TEVEZ SAGA RUMBLES ON

Tony Fernandes, the owner and chairman at English Premier League club Queens Park Rangers, has moved to quell rumors that his side was attempting an audacious bid for wayward Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

The QPR chairman says that there is no basis to these rumours and the one thing that would prove to be a major stumbling block if they did make a move for Tevez are his astronomical wages, which a middle of the table side like Queens Park Rangers would find extremely hard to pay.

The Argentina international striker was also rumoured as a possible January transfer target for another London club, Tottenham Hotspur, but manager Harry Redknapp also ruled out the move saying that he will not be able to afford his wages. Tevez looks set to miss the Carling Cup Semi Final against Liverpool – we wouldn’t advise betting on Man City without him.

However, according to the latest reports that have emerged in England, Carlos Tevez and his agent have already agreed in principle on a move to Italian giants and current champions AC Milan but The Citizen have yet to give the go ahead to the transfer and are holding out for a permanent deal, instead of the loan deal that AC Milan are offering at the moment.

This dilemma on the part of City has added further contenders for the coveted signature of Tevez with other Italian giants including Inter Milan and current leaders of the league Juventus also in the running. Although no official offer has come from the Juventus camp, it is believed that Inter are readying a formal £ 25 million bid for the unsettled striker.

Reports from Italy say that Carlos Tevez prefers a move to AC Milan instead of their bitter rivals and that could lead to further complications in the transfer of a person whose transfers are always turned into a circus, wherever he goes.

Where Carlos moves to directly affects England’s chances at Euro 2012. If he does finally move away from the Etihad stadium then it will give attacking midfielders James Milner and Adam Johnson the chance to get into the first-team, and prove themselves, helping to shorten England’s Euro 2012 betting odds.
